Just before the announcement Apple’s stocks have been exposed.Steve Jobs who suffers from pancreatic cancer explained his resignment in a letter:

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community: I have always said if thereever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Steve

Steve Jobs is said to be the engine and the reason for Apple’s success during the last decades.

Member of the board Art Levinson declared: “Steve Jobs remarkable vision and his style of leadership rescued Apple and made it the most innovative and valuable technology company. “

Now it’s the era of Tim Cook. Who is Apple’s new CEO?

Jobs and Cook

Jobs and Cook

Tim Cook used to be in Jobs’ shadow. Jobs – the great visionary, Apple founder and keen salesman.

But now it’s up to Cook to keep the ship on track.

He already proved that he’s capable if doing the job when he stepped in for Jobs who took a break in 2009 and 2011 for health reasons.

Together with Jobs Cook is said to e one of the most important architects of Apple’s success during the last years.

The genius behind Steve Jobs

The “Fortune” once recognised Cook as the genius behind Steve Jobs.

In 1998 Jobs hired the Compaq manager who immediately took serious counter measures to rehabilitate the struggling company. He closed own producing plants and relied on external suppliers.

Similar to Jobs Cook is said to be a  reclusive workaholic that also tends to write mails at dead of night and is difficult in handling.

What do you think:

Who will be presenting the expected iPhone 5?

Will Apple be able to continue the success from the last years?
